Woman Says Ex-Mother-in-Law Forced Early Discharge After C-Section

Abilo Lovelyn Bunenizibe, a Nigerian woman who has previously spoken out about alleged stalking and harassment from her ex-husband, has now revealed distressing experiences involving her former mother-in-law during her pregnancy.

Bunenizibe posted a screenshot of a message she said was from her ex-husband’s mother, accusing her of intentionally depriving her of food while she was expecting a child.

She further claimed that after going through a Caesarean section, her ex-mother-in-law accused her of exaggerating her pain and insisted on her being released from the hospital as quickly as possible, fearing the rising medical expenses her son would incur.

“My ex-mother-in-law, a passionate Christian and leader in Deeper Life evangelism, is the same woman who deliberately neglected me while I was pregnant just because of my disagreements with her son,” Bunenizibe wrote.

“As a woman of faith, she told me my pain after the Caesarean section was just an act when I tried to stand, even bragging about how easily she went through childbirth herself.”

“She demanded the hospital discharge me sooner, arguing that the costs would burden her son the longer I stayed.”

“She even claimed to receive a vision that declared every member of my family to be witches.”

Meanwhile, news from Zone XI Police Headquarters reveals the arrest of Emmanuel Odeh, who allegedly posed as a lawyer for nearly a decade across Lagos and Abuja.

According to police spokesman Ade Ogunyemi, Odeh was apprehended by the X-Squad on August 28 while appearing in an Abeokuta courtroom under the pretense of being legal counsel.

“Emmanuel Odeh was arrested on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the premises of a court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, while he was representing a client. ACP Oyegade said the suspect had been under investigation for offenses including impersonation and fraud,” a statement explained.

Investigators found Odeh operated under the business name ‘A O EMMANUEL, LEGAL PRACTITIONER AND PUBLIC CONSULTANT,’ the statement continued.

Ogunyemi added that AIG Emuobo Ekokotu of Zone XI advised Nigerians to confirm the credentials of any lawyer before hiring them.

“Falling victim to such impostors means risking your finances, suffering from unqualified representation, jeopardizing your legal matters, and potentially damaging your reputation,” he cautioned.

The police further warned that any would-be impersonators would be swiftly brought to justice.

“Let this be a warning to those who try to take advantage of unsuspecting Nigerians by pretending to be lawyers. The law will certainly catch up with you,” Ekokotu stressed.

The police also noted that Odeh will face charges in court as soon as the investigation wraps up.
