Ghana – Nigerian Movie Industry Did Not Boost Ghanaian Actors – Kofi Adjorlolo

Veteran actor, Kofi Adjorlolo recently shared that Ghana’s movie industry played a significant role in making Ghanaian actors and actresses popular, even before Nigerian producers took notice.

Speaking on ‘The Real Talk Podcast’ hosted by Elizabeth Essuman, Kofi Adjorlolo mentioned how the Ghanaian movie industry was instrumental in establishing the reputation of its actors and actresses.

While acknowledging Nigeria’s impressive business ethics and resilience, he emphasized the role Ghana played in nurturing talents that could compete at the continental level. He highlighted the achievements of Ghanaian stars who gained recognition before venturing into the Nigerian industry.

Addressing the current state of the Ghanaian movie industry, Adjorlolo noted that the industry is active in producing films and engaging actors, but lacks effective promotion and marketing strategies. He stressed the need to improve in these areas for greater visibility.

Despite the challenges faced by the industry, he urged industry stakeholders to collaborate and find solutions to enhance Ghana’s movie sector, rather than discrediting its potential.
