Police in Kogi State Apprehend 23-Year-Old Woman for Alleged Possession of Illegal Items
The Nigeria Police Force in Kogi State has announced the arrest of Charity Williams, a 23-year-old woman, after she was reportedly found with cash, illegal substances, and weapons in the Okene Local Government Area.
The arrest took place after officers from the Okene Division, acting on intelligence, raided a hotel in Oguda village. The operation was initiated following a tip that a suspected criminal was hiding at the lodge.

“During the operation, we took Charity Williams, 23, into custody. Items recovered in the room included a locally made Barretta pistol, ₦2,047,300 in cash, six live rounds of 9mm ammunition, suspected hard drugs, an axe, and four mobile phones,” stated the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya.
According to Aya, the room where these items were found had been registered to one Christopher Kadiri, who has since fled and is currently being sought by authorities.
“Efforts are ongoing to capture the suspect at large as investigations progress,” Aya added.
In a separate incident, officers from the Ofu Division recovered a locally made barrel gun at Ogbakpedo village along the Itobe-Ayingba road—an area noted for kidnapping activity.
“Acting on information about the presence of suspected kidnappers in the bush, police teams approached, causing the suspects to escape. A thorough search of the scene turned up a locally made barrel gun, a cutlass, a Techno phone, and additional items,” Aya revealed.
