Lookman, Osimhen Arrive Eagles Camp; Boniface Trains With Bremen

Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Cyriel Dessers have all checked into the Super Eagles’ camp in Uyo ahead of Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

The arrival of these star forwards brings the Super Eagles’ pre-match squad to 23 players. The team is staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene as preparations ramp up for the crucial encounter.

Among those reporting to camp earlier today were Panathinaikos striker Cyriel Dessers and Atalanta’s in-form winger Ademola Lookman. They were soon joined by Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Raphael Onyedika, Chrisantus Uche, and Victor Osimhen, rounding out the squad on Wednesday afternoon.

The Super Eagles officially opened their training camp on Tuesday and are scheduled for another practice session tonight at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. Spirits are reportedly high in the camp, with players and technical staff eager to get their qualification campaign off to a flying start.

Elsewhere, Victor Boniface was back on the training pitch for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen after making a last-minute loan move from Bayer Leverkusen at the close of the transfer window.

The 24-year-old striker immediately blended in, showcasing energy alongside his new teammates during Wednesday’s training session.

Although Boniface is not part of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming doubleheader against Rwanda and South Africa—despite being named in the initial 31-man provisional list—he will have an opportunity to make his Bremen debut after the conclusion of the international break.

The Super Eagles are determined to make a strong statement this weekend by claiming all three points, as they set out on the road to secure their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
