Miss Nigeria Awarded Luxury Car in Support of Women’s Empowerment

Mikano Motors has proudly delivered a brand new Changan Eado Plus luxury sedan to Doris Ogah, the 45th Miss Nigeria, ushering in an exciting new collaboration with the renowned Miss Nigeria pageant.

This symbolic handover marks the beginning of a partnership built on celebrating the beauty, resilience, and strength of Nigerian women. It also highlights the alignment between Mikano Motors—renowned for supporting local talent—and the ideals embodied by Miss Nigeria.

The Changan Eado Plus, distinguished by its sleek appearance and cutting-edge technology, embodies the spirit of innovation that has become synonymous with the Changan brand. This partnership represents a perfect pairing of shared values: excellence, ambition, and modernity.

Omar Karameh, Group Executive Director of Mikano International Limited, expressed his enthusiasm as Mikano presented the Eado Plus to Ogah. He described the occasion as more than just a car giveaway; for him, it was a celebration of the evolution of the Miss Nigeria pageant from its inception in 1957 as a photo competition to today’s powerhouse platform producing women of remarkable accomplishment across diverse fields.

He said, “We have always been enthusiastic supporters of Nigeria’s thriving arts, culture, and entertainment sector. Backing creative and homegrown talents is part of our DNA. Whether supporting Afriff, Africa’s largest film festival, or this milestone event, we are devoted to uplifting Nigerian creativity.”

Karameh continued: “Miss Nigeria is about more than beauty—it celebrates intelligence, resilience, and leadership. By empowering these incredible women, we’re helping light the path to a stronger and more inspiring Nigeria.”

He affirmed Mikano’s ongoing commitment to championing local talent and underscored his belief that the values represented by Miss Nigeria will inspire future generations of female leaders across the country.

Joelle Haykal, also a Group Executive Director at Mikano International, echoed this sentiment at the press briefing and handover ceremony. She emphasized, “This alliance demonstrates our dedication to empowering women and nurturing homegrown talent, which is central to this year’s Miss Nigeria theme: Cultural Heritage and Community Engagement. This commitment is woven into everything Mikano stands for and is evident in all our efforts to give back.”

Meanwhile, Tom Yin, Vice General Manager for Changan MEA, praised the pageant’s focus on the exceptional achievements of Nigerian women, highlighting their intelligence, cultural advocacy, and “NOWAHALAZONE.” Yin described how this ethos aligns seamlessly with Changan Automobile’s global “Her Power” initiative.

He added that through this collaboration, Changan aims to inspire a new generation of women to follow their ambitions, lead in their chosen fields, and contribute to a brighter tomorrow.

Doris Ogah, newly crowned Miss Nigeria, expressed her gratitude: “Being named Miss Nigeria has transformed my life. I am tremendously thankful to Mikano Motors for this amazing gift. This car is a symbol of my journey ahead—one dedicated to purpose, advocacy, and making a difference. I’m eager to use my reign to encourage and uplift young Nigerian girls nationwide.”

Legendary Nollywood actress Rita Dominic Anosike, who serves as Chairman of the Miss Nigeria board, shared her vision for the franchise’s rejuvenation.

“Breathing new life into Miss Nigeria has always been about more than a beauty contest. It’s about building a platform that recognizes the brilliance, cultural pride, and ambition of Nigerian women,” she said. “With partners like Mikano, we’re not just crowning titleholders—we’re empowering a generation to create real change. This is only the beginning of a promising new era.”

To conclude, Mofid Karameh, Chairman of Mikano International Limited, highlighted the six-year warranty that Changan offers its customers, assuring that the brand will continue to distinguish itself in a competitive market.
