Popular Skitmaker Mrsankucomedy Dies in Tragic Car Accident, Another Creator Killed in Lagos
Sanku Olaniyi, widely known by his stage name Mrsankucomedy, has sadly passed away following a car crash along the Oyo–Ogbomoso expressway near Ibadan.
The accident occurred during the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, according to reports from The Nation.
Although emergency responders rushed Sanku to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Mrsankucomedy launched his career in 2021. His rise to stardom came in 2024, thanks to a viral comedy freestyle that attracted more than 70,000 views and catapulted him into the spotlight.
His innovative comedic flair and lovable personality quickly attracted a strong fan following.
After news of his passing broke, fans, influencers, and entertainers flooded social media platforms such as X and Instagram with heartfelt tributes and condolences.
In a separate somber development, the Lakowe community in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State was thrown into shock following the brutal killing of another skit maker, identified as Austin.
According to eyewitnesses quoted by Punch, the incident occurred early on Thursday, August 14, when suspected cultists stormed the neighborhood.
Sources revealed the attackers forcibly entered Austin’s home, hauled him outside, and assaulted him with machetes, resulting in his death at the scene.
A local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the grisly scene and confirmed that one of Austin’s hands had been severed during the attack.
“We heard a disturbance very early that morning, but didn’t know what had happened until later when we discovered Austin’s lifeless body nearby. Seeing his severed hand, we realized it was related to the chaos we heard earlier,” the resident recounted.
Further investigation uncovered that Austin, who was also a skilled hairstylist, had voiced concerns for his safety in the days leading up to his death.
Another area inhabitant disclosed that Austin posted a chilling farewell note on his social media status shortly before the tragedy.
“Austin was well known for his talent as a hairstylist and his comedic skits. People close to him said that he had foreseen his death and left a cryptic message on his WhatsApp status the day before,” the resident explained.
