Nigerian activist and lawyer, Dele Farotimi, has stirred up online discussions by condemning the recently introduced petroleum tax as an unjust system meant to oppress citizens.
In a widely circulated video, Farotimi criticized Nigerians for passively accepting unfair government policies and called for a collective refusal to comply with such measures, emphasizing the need for accountability.
“When fuel subsidy existed, the funds were supposed to go to FERMA for maintaining federal roads, but they have misused the money. Now, with no fuel subsidy, petrol prices have risen,” he explained.
Farotimi also called upon fellow activists and public figures to join him in opposing the policy, specifically naming some individuals.
“I challenge Yele Sowore, Bello Galadanchi, and all others who claim to be activists to resist this fuel tax. We must stand against it,” he asserted.
His statements have sparked intense debates online, with many supporting his position while others question the effectiveness of resistance in bringing about actual change.
On another note, Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo made headlines with her chic post-pregnancy look during an outing with her newborn, impressing many with her stylish appearance.
The popular TikTok creator, known for her fashion sense, showcased her effortless style while debuting her baby in public, attracting attention with her grace and poise.
Priscy donned a stunning cream gown with intricate designs, perfectly blending comfort and sophistication at an event for her bag collection in Canada.
She later shared snapshots from the event on Instagram, capturing heartwarming moments with her infant, who relaxed in a Gucci stroller.
In an Instagram post, she expressed:
